MARINE PARTS & SERVICE ADVISOR – PROCTOR MARINE, SIMCOE ON
Proctor Marine is looking to hire a full-time, year-round Parts & Service Advisor to join our team. We are seeking an individual who wants to work within a family-oriented company who will value your employment and contributions.

The vacant position within the PARTS & SERVICE Department will require relative experience from a motivated and enthusiastic individual who will report directly to the General Manager. The ideal candidate should be organized, customer focused and collaborative amongst our fantastic team. It will be essential that the candidate is seeking opportunity to work within a dynamic and growing environment and have a solid understanding of the marine lifestyles, products, parts, and supporting services.
This position will require to its fullest extent employee reliability, commitment, and ability to represent our company professionally. This position will require some mechanical experience, problem-solving, and continuous learning. Experience with BRP Marine, Mercury Marine, and Mercruiser products, parts, and services would be an asset.
The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a clean driving abstract and criminal background check.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greets and receives customers in welcoming manner
- Manage customer visits, calls and emails
- Monitors and responds to service and parts related e-mails and telephone inquiries
- Create Work Orders for Service Staff as per the customers’ issues
- Provide accurate scheduling time frames that are deliverable by the team and scope of work to be completed.
- Delegate, schedule and manage Service Staff
- Monitor Technicians and work order status to ensure delivery dates are met
- Organize and prepare & pull parts for scheduled work orders
- Minimize delays for scheduled work order on part sourcing and orders
- Ensure high demand/moving inventory (Batteries etc.) are maintained at an appropriate level to deliver internal and external service commitments.
- Oversee and implement inventory control exercises, price changes, and signage
- Manages daily service and delivery schedules including subsequent processes for workorder/storage order completion
- Organize, prepare and execute 3rd party repairs
- Fully participate in the daily business operations of the Service Department
- Preparation of formal reports (quotes & warranties) along with invoices for submission to customers
- Manages financial transactions by processing payments
- Manage multiple tasks on a daily basis with exceptional prioritization ability
- Assess and support basic marine mechanic issues
- Identify and promote new products and services to customers
- Support and Achieve overall Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) target
- Maintain strong existing customer relationships and help grow network of new customers
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and client retention levels
- Address customer complaints and concerns that have been escalated in a timely and professional manner
- Maintains excellent Health & Safety standards and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures

- Be accountable for the profitability of the Service Department
- Motivates and supports the service team and always leads by example
- Build on and maintain an effective team of service representatives and technicians
- Identify and execute operational efficiencies within the Service Department
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Experience dealing with customers in a service and parts environment
- Experience managing an office environment or department
- Experience in interpreting technical calls related to equipment with mechanical, electrical and/or hydraulic issues
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, departmental, and corporate goals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to work irregular hours during peak periods including weekends
- Able to work in variable work environments/conditions both indoors and outdoors
- Able to lead and motivate a team
- Can manage multiple tasking with exceptional prioritization ability
- Good mechanical and technical skills
- 3-5 years of Customer Service experience in the marine or automotive industry
- Intermediate computer skills (WORD, EXCEL, GOOGLE Suite, & DMS experience would be an asset)
- Sound understanding of basic math (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pleasure Craft Operator Card
